SPIRE's 79th Annual Meeting & Member Appreciation Day

 

From chocolate chip to oatmeal raisin to peanut butter, a record-setting 2,000 attendees at SPIRE Federal Credit Union's Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Day enjoyed nearly 1,800 cookies.

Devon Harris, captain of the original Jamaican bobsled team, was the keynote speaker, revving up the crowd with his lively presentation, encouraging attendees to just “keep on pushing” to achieve their dreams. Harris, who was raised in a ghetto in Kingston, Jamaica, competed in the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary, Canada.  Their adventures inspired the popular Disney movie Cool Runnings

The Annual Meeting included a report on the national economy, remarks from the SPIRE Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee, and a message from SPIRE President/CEO, Dan Stoltz.

SPIRE's 78th Annual Meeting & Member Appreciation Day

 

Nearly 1200 people attended SPIRE's Annual Meeting & Member Appreciation Day held at Bethel University on Saturday, February 25.

Jim Morris was featured at the meeting with his presentation about following your dreams. Morris, who became a professional baseball player at age 35, is known as "The Oldest Rookie" and was the subject of a feature film starring Dennis Quaid.


The Annual Meeting included reports from SPIRE Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee as well as the President's Report from SPIRE President/CEO, Dan Stoltz.
